@Jeff—You can generate attendance through Usage Reports in Zoom.
Can you create break out groups in Zoom?
My course is already on a Canvas template. Is there anything new for the remote template that might be helpful?
Here is a link to the quiz tool that Nilufer mentioned: https://www.socrative.com/
How do you check attendance?
@Jeff, you’ll want to Enable Breakout Rooms in your settings and then you can create and manage those rooms.
Enabling Breakout Rooms: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/206476093-Enabling-breakout-rooms
Managing Breakout Rooms: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/206476313-Managing-Video-Breakout-Rooms
We also have the option to not have class times for remote instruction. Not sure if that’s just for this semester.
@Jeff—The remote template is a simplified version of the usual online course templates we offer. It includes a weekly module structure that’s specific to the Fall 2020 term.

@Jann, If a faculty member has more than 300 students that need to be on at a time, I believe they can reach out to ITS who will be able to assist them with getting a larger limit
Danny is referring to CAnvas Studio videos
Can students set up Zoom meetings themselves if they have group work to do?
